What if the laser cutting machine always hangs slag?

The laser cutting machine always hangs slag, which will seriously affect the quality of the cut workpiece.

Many sheet metal processing enterprises will encounter such problems.

So, can a hanging cutter solve this problem?

How to deal with it to achieve the ideal cutting effect?

There are many reasons why laser cutters hang residue.

In general, we can think about focus, speed, power, pressure, and other issues.

What should I do if the laser cutting machine always hangs residue?

Let's go through them in detail.

1. Focus position: The focus position is the distance from the laser focus to the workpiece surface, which directly affects the roughness of the cutting surface, the slope and width of the cutting seam.

If the focus position is too high, it will increase the heat absorbed by the lower end of the cutting workpiece.

Under a certain cutting speed and auxiliary pressure, the cutting material and the molten material close to the cutting seam will flow on the lower surface and become liquid, and the molten material will adhere to the lower surface of the workpiece after cooling, if the position lags behind. The heat that can be absorbed by the lower surface of the cutting material will be reduced, so that the material in the cutting seam will not be completely melted, and some sharp and short residues will adhere to the lower surface of the board.

2. Speed: When laser cutting, according to the material of the cutting plate and the thickness of the plate, determine the choice of cutting speed. Different cutting speeds will have a great impact on the quality of laser cutting.

Choosing an appropriate cutting speed can not only improve the efficiency of laser cutting, but also obtain good cutting quality.

3. Power: During laser cutting, the choice of laser power size will affect the cutting quality.

The cutting power should be determined according to the material of the cutting board and the thickness of the board. If the power is too much or too little, you won't get a good cutting cut.

4. Air pressure: In the laser cutting process, the auxiliary air pressure can blow off the slag during the cutting process and cool the heat-affected area of the cutting. Auxiliary gases include oxygen, compressed air, nitrogen, etc. Some metal materials generally use inert gas or compressed air to prevent the material from burning.

When the auxiliary gas pressure is too high, eddy currents occur on the surface of the material, which weakens the ability to remove the melt, causing the slit to widen and the cut surface is rough; when the pressure is too low, the melt cannot be completely blown away, and the lower surface of the material sticks to slag. Therefore, the auxiliary gas pressure should be adjusted during cutting to obtain intoxicating cutting quality.
